The New York City Housing Authority Partners with Nickelodeon to Celebrate Worldwide Day of Play
The New York City Housing Authority will host a series of recreational activities for its youth at various developments throughout the five boroughs, beginning with Campos Plaza in the East Village on September 18, 2013 as part of Nickelodeon’s 10th Annual Worldwide Day of Play (WWDoP) celebration through this weekend. Chairman John Rhea will join the kickoff festivities at Campos. For the WWDoP, Nickelodeon suspends all programming across its TV channels and websites urging kids to “get up, go outside and play” to promote physical fitness and active play. This year, Nickelodeon and its partners will extend the celebration for this week turning New York into a “City of Play” with more than 80 health and wellness-geared activities at a number of New York City locations. NYCHA will host simultaneous events in every borough: Monroe Houses in the Bronx; Seth Low Houses in Brooklyn; Campos Plaza and Manhattanville in Manhattan; Hammel Houses and Beach 41st Street in Queens; and South Beach Houses on Staten Island.
