Statue of Sen. Barry Goldwater To Be Dedicated Next Month

(Media-Newswire.com) - WASHINGTON, DC - House Speaker John Boehner ( R-OH ), Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell ( R-KY ), Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid ( D-NV ), and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi ( D-CA ) announced today that they will dedicate a statue of the late Barry M. Goldwater at a ceremony to be held on Wednesday, February 11 in National Statuary Hall of the United States Capitol. Goldwater represented Arizona in the United States Senate for five terms.
The Goldwater statue was chosen by the Arizona legislature to become part of the National Statuary Hall Collection, which is comprised of statues donated by the states to honor notable individuals in their history.
Additional details regarding the dedication of the statue will be announced closer to the day of the ceremony.
