UN delivers 62 metric tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine
19 February 2015 | GENEVA | DONETSK - WHO today delivered 13 tons of medical supplies to the Donetsk region in Ukraine as part of the first UN humanitarian convoy, which brought a total of 62 tons of relief materials.
(Media-Newswire.com) - 19 February 2015 | GENEVA | DONETSK - WHO today delivered 13 tons of medical supplies to the Donetsk region in Ukraine as part of the first UN humanitarian convoy, which brought a total of 62 tons of relief materials.
Supplies include HIV and tuberculosis medical products, 612 kg of HIV test systems and 3 tons of drugs to treat infections in people with weak immune defences.
This will prevent hundreds of children being born with HIV as well as provide a lifeline for the over 38 000 persons affected by HIV and 5000 persons affected by tuberculosis in Donetsk and Luhansk.
