(Media-Newswire.com) - Sharon Jones, dean of the Shiley School of Engineering at University of Portland, is among a 22-member group that has issued a call to action to address issues, challenges and trends unique to engineering education in Catholic institutions as a response to Pope Francis’ “Laudato Si’” encyclical on the environment and human ecology. The group of engineering leaders at Catholic colleges and universities has been meeting annually for the past three years to address matters that both impact engineering education and where engineering education can have an impact.
The call to action was published this week in an op-ed article in US News and World Report.
